FAQ
Some movie formats [MP4, H.264] wouldn't play. How to make them play?
Windows XP and Windows 7 come with their own, not always very effective, codecs. This is why more3D decided make use of third party "DirectShow"-Codecs. These codecs are licensefree or published under GNU/GPL license and are tested by more3D. Certified Codec Packages are
- Prerequisites Win XP (includes .NET Framework 2.0, WMP11 runtime, ffdshow tryouts, Haali Media Splitter and configfiles for ffdshow)
- Prerequisites Win 7 (includes ffdshow tryouts, Haali Media Splitter and configfiles for ffdshow)
Further Windows7 locks it's codecs. The "Win7DSFilterTweaker" works around this and sets codec routines back to user's choice. Please configure the Tool as seen on the screenshot below. For Configuration of FFDShow Tryouts, please refer to the moreMediaHD codec guide.
