Dual Stream

Description:

For the optimal stereo projection with 2 high resolution video streams (here as a simple example with two completely different videos)

Can also be used to create a wide screen projection with edge blending projectors.
Performance on a Pentium4 with 3GHz: 2 x full screen 1280x1024 MPEG2 video streams.

 

Field Interleaved / IMAX

Description:
In this format the odd and even lines are alternatingly used to code the left and right video.

All IMAX DVD's and NuVision videos use this format.
 

Subfields / UpDown

Format:


Description:
This format is supported by some BARCO projectors.

The video stream is being split horizontally and put out to the VGA outputs respectively.
 

Sidefields / Side by Side

Format:



Description:
This format can be created using an optical beam splitter.

The video stream is being split vertically and put out to the VGA outputs respectively.
