The VR Bridge for your software

Why Virtual Reality?

Virtual Reality helps closing the gap between the real world and the digital processes. It enables the users to immerse themselves into digital models as if they are real. The immersion leads to faster design cycles, less revisions and saves time and money. The earlier VR is applied, the greater the effect on the project’s overall success.

With Virtual Reality the true size of an architectural project or a production line is perceived 1:1 in the real world’s scale – opposed to viewing on a 27 inch desktop screen. Additionally stereoscopic / binocular display techniques mimic the natural human way of seeing: intuitively perceiving distance and relation of objects. VR allows to simply walk inside the 3D data, e.g. early-on experiencing the layout of the production line and worker’s ergonomics.

Virtual Reality – quick, easy & reliable

The moreViz VR bridge brings your professional applications directly into any VR environment, without the need for file conversion or import/export hassle. The software works like a plugin for your host application, it mirrors the host app’s 3D viewport in realtime. This way simulation and animation results are bridged live into virtual reality. VR glasses and head mounted displays like Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Valve Index, HP Reverb (G2) [and many more] allow for quick checks on the desk. Classic VR environments like Powerwalls, CAVEs and DOMEs empower for team reviews. With the new moreViz VR bridge software virtual products, models and environments are perceived so realistically that the users will try to touch them.

Sustainable Investment

more3D was founded in 2001: We research and develop stereo 3D and VR solutions ever since. The founders are active even longer, with the ELSA AG the first consumer shutter glasses and 3D gaming drivers were released in the 90ies. The development of the new moreViz software is sustainable and future-proof planned. This allows us to integrate new innovations quickly from the fast-moving 3D hardware market. A very good example is the development of the moreStereo3D software. It was launched on Windows98 – today it supports Windows 10 and 11.

Supports 3D Monitors, HMDs and 3D Projectors

The new moreViz VR bridge software supports every VR environment and budget. VR glasses / head mounted displays suit digital workdesks – e.g. for on the fly engineering checkups. Evaluating 3D designs at the desk with collagues and customers is done best by utilizing a 3D autostereoscopic display – showing the CAD systems contents in life-like 3D stereo, without the need for 3D glasses. Team reviews in conference rooms are fitted with large displays, e.g. 80” 3D displays or 3D Projectors on a powerwall. The most immersive multi user experience is the CAVE system. CAVE systems consist of multiple 3D projected walls, forming a cube or sphere (“Dome”) shape. The user’s field of view is fully covered with position-tracked digital 3D content, immersing user groups into the digital design and simulation. more3D’s 20 year experience in delivering turnkey VR solutions helps you in choosing the right system for your needs – get in touch with us for free consultancy on your needs.

Full control

The moreViz VR Bridge software is designed to guide first time VR users in installation, configuration and operation. Our company policy is: if the user must to read the whole manual, we have failed our mission. The moreViz Launcher centrally operates and configures all VR related software components. The launcher operates in SteamVR mode for HMDs or in VRPN mode for 3D Displays, Powerwalls, CAVEs and Domes.

Our customer’s feedback was so overwhelmingly positive that we decided to add more functionality to it. Aside from operating the moreViz client(s), the tracking solution, and additional VR tools, it supports adding user-specified apps to it’s interface.

3D Data Flow

moreViz copies the graphic data of the CAD application’s 3D viewport. The copied data is then packed and encrypted by a fast processing engine. The encrypted data packets are then sent over network to an unlimited amount of moreViz rendering clients. The client’s configuration provides the output types for Powerwall, CAVE and HMD mode. The moreViz Client presents the data visually and offers a variety of in-VR interaction options. With this architecture many use case scenarios are possible. E.g. clustering for faster visualisation in a high-end multi-side cave is possible. Additional remote clients on HMD can also join a CAVE session. The VR experience can be shared across networks, even across the internet (while bandwith and latency restrictions apply).

Always up to date

more3D’s veterans and new talents ensure compatability to new releases of all certified applications. As Siemens Technology Partner for VR visualization more3D stands for German quality software engineering. Many users choose the moreViz VR bridge software over integrated VR modes for it’s great compatability and standaradized controls layout. Not having to learn multiple VR button layouts for different host applciations saves a lot of time. Often, moreViz is able to do what integrated VR modes can not: e.g. playing animation and simulation directly in the user’s VR environment. With the integrated experience of more than 20 years the moreViz software is usually able to speedup the host applications rendering engine by a lot.

Easy Setup of your environment

Many VR-supporting software packages are highly complex and require trained service personel to be operated. Users of moreViz confirm: Setting up a CAVE VR experience within 30 minutes from installation is easily possible. HMD setups are even quicker, below 10 minutes. While HMD users benefit from SteamVR’s automatic tracking and input configuration, CAVE users create button and axis mappings in moreViz’es VRPN Translator. The VPRN Translator features one click VR room origin calibration and can connect to multiple input devices simultaneously. This allows to e.g. combine the ultra-precise ART Smarttrack positional tracking with the VR controllers of an HMD.

Free choice of trackingsytems

By supporting VRPN the moreViz software offers great compability to many tracking systems. Nearly every major tracking system manufacturer provides a VRPN server or is natively supported by VRPN. more3D additionally supplies a custom VRPN Server for OpenVR / SteamVR based tracking systems like the Lighthouse. This way HMD’s can serve as entry level tracking solution to small powerwall systems. A custom head tracker in combination with e.g. the HTC Vive’s controllers can operate the moreViz software very comfortably.

Realtime Datalink

The datalink between your software, e.g. JT2Go, SAP Visual Enterprise or Catia, works in realtime. moreViz copies all graphic data and sends it encrypted over the local network to the moreViz visualization clients. The clients mirror each change in the actual application in realtime. This way animations and steps can be played in the immersive enivronment – with the advantages of tracking and life-like stereo visualization.

Windows 10 and Windows 11

moreViz supports Windows 10 and 11. While our recommendation is to use exclusively Windows 10. The moreViz team has full understanding for legacy installations that are bound to operating system requirements, yet we’ve concluded Windows 7 and Windows 8 as of January 2022. If you need an older version of moreViz, we can support you with the legacy version.

more Compability

Targeting professional users we have integrated a lot of comfort functions into moreViz. For instance moreViz disables many 2D elements of the host application’s 3D View in the moreViz Client. This feature allows to remove e.g. scene trees from inside the visualisation allowing for the full rich VR experience without distracting elements. moreViz supports OpenGL Level up to 4.6 and many shader systems. Yet, the software does not target at gaming or entertainment but at professional CAD and simulation applications.

more Independence

Systemintegrators will surely appreciate moreViz’es independence in terms of graphics boards. moreViz offers the choice of using consumer hardware and also does not need any special drivers or manufacturers. With our new software you can choose from whatever graphics board your application benefits best. Using mutliple moreViz clients on a “Phat Node” computer can power multiple projectors. For best performance we recommend to use one GPU per moreViz client. For a single ultra high-resolution power wall four clients can be comined to one, fusing e.g. four 4K projectors into one 8K image. moreViz’es versatile output mode configuration provides fast, realiable and flexible VR presentation of your software based on your current environment.
